Now I've play the PC version, which vastly differs for this one I've played the arcade version, which comes in a close 2nd this one I say is the best out of all of them. Distance attacks and fighting while invisible are considered less honorable. These types of points are achieved by killing Aliens and Colonial Marines in face-to-face battle. You the game begin armed only with the wrist blade, but you can grab additional weapons by scoring honor points. When controlling this vile, extremely powerful creature, your weapons consist of a wrist blade, a combi stick (spear), a smart disk, and a shoulder cannon. Instead of rescuing the Alien Queen, the Predator's objective is to have her head on a platter. The Alien is the fastest character, but has no long-range weapons. You cannot use elevators to move through the sublevels, but you can get around via air ducts. You can also create other Aliens to help you in your mission to rescue the Alien Queen. When playing as the Alien, you must use your claws, tail and jaws to fight your way through marines and Predators.

Naturally, the marine is the most vulnerable of the three characters. Weapons include a shotgun, a pulse rifle, a flamethrower, and a smart gun. To achieve your objective, you must collect a number of weapons for use in blasting aliens, and security cards for use in accessing locked rooms.

The game lets you play as either alien type or as a Colonial Marine.Īs the Colonial Marine, your mission is to set the base for self-destruct and get the heck out of Dodge via an escape pod. A Colonial Marine Training Base has fallen to two unknown alien types, the Aliens and the Predators.

As it turned out, it transpired that Sam and my Dad had a penchant for Newcastle Brown Ale, which smoothed visits and formed a bond between them! At one point, looking for a break from the office environment, both Mike and I decided to return to the UK for a short break, which resulted in the game being developed in the dining room of my parents house for quite a while, including shipping all the dev kits and our Atari TT machines! Many thanks to my parents for all they did and putting up with visits from Sam Tramiel and others to their living room. Working around the clock in the office at Sunnyvale was quite the task, along with keeping the execs at Fox happy.
